## Title: Gender Intern

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to support gender integration initiatives within the IGNITE+ model at Tanager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of gender technical assistance as per the IGNITE+ model
  • Contribute to strengthening institutional systems and structures towards gender integration for IGNITE+ clients
  • Support the design and delivery of participatory training, sensitization workshops, and capacity-building activities on gender integration for clients
  • Support the development and piloting of capacity-building tools that integrate both gender and nutrition into the design and implementation of agriculture activities
  • Respond to routine client queries and escalate appropriately to ensure timely and accurate responses to enquiries
  • Support the preparation of gender-related reports while adhering to Tanager corporate standards and quality controls
  • Accompany Tanager staff in partner meetings and workshops, and contribute to project learning
  • Perform other related duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, anthropology, women's studies, or related discipline
  • Recently completed or near completion of a master's degree in the above fields of study (within the last 12-18 months)
  • Good understanding of global and continental commitment mechanisms for gender in agriculture for stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, and the private sector
  • Understanding of gender in agriculture and women's empowerment concepts and approaches

Key Competencies

  • Strong written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, well-organized documents
  • Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with teams while navigating challenging or unexpected circumstances
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based environment, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Fluency in English
