Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Implementation Support at Practical Action Kenya

About This Role

Practical Action Kenya is seeking a dynamic consultant to support the implementation of Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) initiatives. You will work with an expanding team to develop comprehensive frameworks, conduct analysis, and build capacity across multiple stakeholders.

Key Deliverables

• Develop a comprehensive assignment workplan with activities and timeline aligned with Practical Action's requirements and guidelines
• Conduct gender analysis and policy/legal scan, incorporating existing literature, data, and reports to understand current context and develop a project gender action plan
• Design qualitative and quantitative data collection tools for interviews with select respondents and key informants
• Perform stakeholder mapping to identify and consult with key stakeholders including government ministries, semi-autonomous authorities, county government staff, energy entrepreneurs, private sector actors, and energy suppliers
• Conduct field visits to select counties for primary data collection, analyze findings, and develop a comprehensive report
• Develop GEDSI training tools and manuals focused on local manufacturing and energy crop cultivation for clean cooking supply chains, with particular focus on women, youth, and persons with disabilities
• Create GEDSI indicators for inclusion in capacity-building sessions with stove manufacturers and crop cultivators
• Design inclusive markets Private Sector Market Development (PSMD) approach and business development skills guidelines with GEDSI integration
• Develop a GEDSI-sensitive Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework with reporting templates
