## Title: FTTH Civil Works - OSP/IS Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled technician to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic distribution systems and associated telecommunications equipment. You will work on both overhead and underground fiber optic cables, ensuring systems meet industry standards while providing technical support to customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground fiber optic distribution, feeder, and drop cables
- Install and service associated telecommunications equipment including indoor and outdoor fiber access terminals, joint boxes, and fiber distribution pedestals
- Test and troubleshoot fiber optic systems from distribution and feeder segments to ensure compliance with fiber set standards
- Splice and terminate fiber optic cables, ensuring clean and secure connections
- Conduct site surveys using GPS-based applications and interpret network design diagrams and installation drawings
- Perform preventive maintenance on existing fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance
- Provide technical support to customers and team members, both onsite and online, guiding troubleshooting and fault resolution
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies needed for installations and repairs
- Generate and share technical reports using MS Word
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in telecommunications or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with fusion splicing and OTDR testing
- Knowledge of fiber industry standards and regulations
- Valid driver's license (class BCE)
- Proficiency with fiber optic testing, fusion, and termination equipment

- Proficiency in computer use for report generation and sharing
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CFOT or FOA
