Feed Mill Manager at Skills Geographic Kenya (SGK)

This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. As Feed Mill Manager, you will lead and manage the full spectrum of operations at an animal feed manufacturing facility in the Mt. Kenya region. You will be responsible for end-to-end operations including raw material sourcing, feed formulation, production, packaging, and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the feed mill to ensure efficient production and delivery of high-quality feed products
• Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
• Manage raw material sourcing and supplier relationships
• Supervise feed formulation and production processes
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Manage packaging and final product delivery
• Travel to raw material suppliers, farms, or other company sites when required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Food Science and Technology, Animal Nutrition, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in feed mill operations or related manufacturing environment
• Proven experience managing large-scale feed production operations from raw material sourcing to final packaging
• Deep expertise in animal nutrition and feed formulation techniques
• Operational leadership experience within a busy feed mill or related manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of raw material markets (local and international)
• Proficiency in feed formulation software
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing animal feed production in Kenya
• Competency in MS Office Suite, ERP systems, and production management tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Knowledge of ISO, HACCP, and other quality systems
• Familiarity with automated feed milling systems and plant machinery

Compensation

KES 200,000 – 300,000 plus company benefits
