## Title: Facilities and Maintenance Officer
About the Organization
Mirema School is a reputable Christian educational institution seeking a dedicated Facilities and Maintenance Officer to ensure the safety, functionality, and compliance of all institutional facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure institutional facilities remain well-maintained and safe through preventative maintenance and repair work on buildings, offices, classrooms, and all other spaces within the school
- Conduct regular inspections of various spaces and common areas to verify they meet school standards in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Public Health Act, and other relevant regulations
- Support the Head of Operations and Finance in maintaining organizational control over facility conditions to minimize impact on school operations
- Receive and evaluate repair requests from staff and personnel to determine whether repairs should be completed in-house or through contracted services
- Document all repair requests with details including time requirements, repair/parts costs, and completion notifications to relevant parties
- Maintain detailed records on all facilities, including repair history, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair costs
- Schedule and oversee maintenance inspections for school facilities, ensuring all inspections remain current and compliant with relevant codes and standards
- Maintain and organize hand tools, shop tools, and equipment in proper working condition
- Manage inventory of commonly used repair parts in a clean, organized location
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Facilities Management, Maintenance, Real Estate, or Property Management from a recognized institution (or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Valid certificate of good conduct
