Executive Director at Action Aid

About the Role

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of ActionAid International Kenya's operations. This role ensures alignment with the organization's Constitution, established policies, principles, and operating practices, while responding to the political, social, cultural, and economic environment in Kenya.

Strategic Leadership

• Provide leadership in shaping the organizational strategic direction, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the delivery of the organization's mandate
• Provide conceptual and thought leadership in strategy development and reviews
• Implement and further develop ActionAid's vision, mission, philosophy, and principles in line with agreed strategies and organizational priorities
• Develop and maintain a strong organizational and country programme corporate identity
• Plan, develop, and project a corporate image aligned with the vision, mission, values, and philosophy of ActionAid International Kenya
• Ensure proactive communication strategy with sound relationships with media and stakeholders to manage the external impact of initiatives
• Encourage research to improve the quality of ActionAid programmes and policy development
• Establish, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with government, donors, partners, network alliances, and civil society organizations
