Executive Director at Action Aid

About the Role

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of ActionAid International Kenya's operations, in line with the organization's Constitution, established policies, principles, and operating practices, while responding to the political, social, cultural, and economic environment.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in shaping organizational strategic direction, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in service delivery
• Offer conceptual and thought leadership in strategy development and reviews
• Implement and further develop ActionAid's vision, mission, philosophy, and principles in line with agreed strategies and organizational priorities
• Develop and maintain strong organizational and country programme corporate identity
• Plan, develop, and project a corporate image aligned with ActionAid's vision, mission, values, and philosophy
• Develop and implement a proactive communication strategy with strong relationships with media and stakeholders to manage external impact
• Encourage research to improve the quality of ActionAid programmes and policy development
• Establish, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with government, donors, partners, network alliances, and civil society organizations
