Environment Officer I at Agro-Chemical and Food Company

About the Role

This is an entry-level and training position for degree holders in the environmental management cadre. You will work under the supervision of a senior officer within a dynamic and expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing environmental management plans
• Participate in environmental audits and follow up on implementation of recommendations
• Maintain compliance registers for environmental legislation and propose corrective actions
• Inspect waste generation and disposal processes
• Carry out and interpret effluent monitoring analysis
• Ensure compliance with the company's environmental management policy and occupational safety management policy
• Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety requirements
• Prepare environmental and budget reports and proposals
• Implement environmental regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Registered associate expert with NEMA
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Kenyan Constitution

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership with a professional body such as EIK

• Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
