Environment Assistant at Agro-Chemical and Food Company

Position Overview

This is an entry-level and training position for Diploma holders. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a senior officer and support the operations of the Effluent Treatment Plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and check lubrication oil for gas blowers, pumps, and other effluent treatment plant equipment
• Collect samples and conduct simple quality tests for routine analysis
• Maintain records of the Effluent Treatment Plant
• Conduct daily inspections of the Effluent Treatment Plant and effluent chemical treatment
• Trim ponds at the plant
• Conduct general cleanliness and maintenance of the plant
• Remove floating foreign materials from lagoons and ponds
• Incinerate hazardous waste
• Carry out basic machinery diagnosis and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in one of the following fields:
  • Environmental Studies
  • Natural Resource Management
  • Sewerage Technician
  • Equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to submit the following documents:

• Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
• Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
