Position Overview

Kenya Rural Roads Authority is recruiting for 30 Engineering Technician I positions based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise roads construction and maintenance works
• Prepare and maintain site records and other road work records
• Prepare roadwork programmes in liaison with the supervisor
• Select and locate suitable materials for road works
• Collect, compile, and analyze data on road inventory
• Operate axle load control monitoring systems
• Supervise execution of annual traffic counts
• Ensure that all site records are prepared on time and submitted as required
• Advise on priorities for maintenance programmes

Required Qualifications

• Cumulative service period of six (6) years in relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at the Engineering Technician II grade or in a comparable position
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Professional registration with the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB)
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
