About the Role

This is an entry-level position within the driver cadre. Drivers at this level work under the guidance of a designated officer and are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate motor vehicles as authorized
• Conduct routine vehicle checks including cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, as well as tire pressure
• Detect and report malfunctioning vehicle systems promptly
• Maintain work tickets for assigned vehicles
• Ensure security and safety of vehicles both on and off the road
• Ensure passenger and cargo safety
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and proper condition
• Report accidents immediately and follow up on police abstracts
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain up-to-date insurance documentation

Required Qualifications

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a mean grade of D (plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Valid driving license free from current endorsements for the vehicle class(es) required
• First-Aid Certificate Course (minimum one week duration) from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or other recognized institution
• Certificate of Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers
• Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution
• Minimum two (2) years of driving experience
• Proficiency in computer applications
