## Title: Dean of Students

About the Position

Kibabii University College seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Dean of Students. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing student welfare, discipline, and engagement across the institution.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • PhD in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of service in the grade of Deputy Dean of Students (Grade 14)
  • Certificate in Strategic Leadership/Governance Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks (desirable)
  • Registration with a relevant professional body
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dean of Students will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with service departments affecting housing, health, catering, and student welfare, including guidance, counseling, and wardenship
  • Advising the Students Association on matters concerning its functions and regulating expenditure of its finances
  • Administering the Students' Organization of Kibabii University (SOKU) elections and overseeing smooth transitions between student councils
  • Arranging entertainment and coordinating cultural activities and co-curricular programs for students in conjunction with the Students' Organization
  • Processing students' non-academic disciplinary cases in consultation with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Students Affairs) for the Students Disciplinary Committee
  • Supervising and coordinating all student publications and newspapers
  • Maintaining communication and dialogue between University Management and students through their Organization
