Data Center Management Engineer at HCS Affiliates Group

Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing and enforcing the management of space utilization, projects installation, acceptance, service provisioning, faults management, and preventive maintenance cycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support involving monitoring system performance, making defect repairs, testing applications after changes, and system tuning
• Participate in team activities such as peer code reviews to improve the overall quality of team deliverables
• Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
• Manage and support third-party software developers and integration partners, both internal and external
• Conduct research and development of new features, solutions, and technologies
• Manage faults, changes, and preventative maintenance activities ensuring maximum MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and minimal MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
• Implement and enforce Data Centre procedures pertaining to:
  • Space management
  • Power management
  • Cooling management
  • Installation and acceptance
  • Change management
• Analyze trends, undertake root cause analysis, identify key issues, and provide clear and concise RCA documentation to facilitate continued improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
• Higher Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Data Centre certification course
• 2 years of experience as a Data Centre Engineer

Required Competencies

• Working knowledge of GSM network technology and understanding of how each contract impacts infrastructure operations
• Planning and organizational skills
• Good knowledge of telecommunications core networks, interconnectivity, and customer impact
