About the Role
The Credit Securities & Documentation Officer is responsible for supporting the maintenance of a quality lending portfolio through loan and advances contracting, loan disbursements, risk monitoring, and control of the risk asset book. This role handles disbursement of credit facilities and maintenance of overdraft limits in the core-banking system while ensuring absolute data integrity. The jobholder also manages loan repayment requests, rescheduling, and other credit-related processes and queries.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation
- Review loan documents and liaise with internal and external parties to ensure proper and efficient delivery of credit administration duties
- Ensure that all conditions precedent for credit facilities are in place and obtain necessary deferrals/waivers from Management Credit Committee prior to signing off for disbursement of all credit facilities
- Ensure post-disbursement compliance with approved terms and conditions, assignment of rights, review expiry of credits, and progress payment insurance
- Prepare Letters of Offers and other correspondence prior to issuance to clients, Business Managers, and Relationship Managers
- Follow up with Business Units and branches to ensure that all requirements advised in offer letters and credit application approvals are satisfied
- Monitor all irregularities, past dues, and documentation deficiencies, and report findings to Executive Management and Management Credit Committee
- Support the proper segregation and filing of all credit files into their respective compartments in alpha-numerical order
Securities
- Support the maintenance of the Master folder for all securities held by the Bank
- Facilitate updates to the securities register and security release register
- Ensure a robust process for safe custody of securities and maintain dual control for access
- Follow up on logbooks forwarded for joint registration with relevant authorities
