Credit Officer (Microfinance)

About the Role

Peoplelink Consultants Ltd is seeking a qualified Credit Officer to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. In this position, you will be responsible for customer mobilization, loan application processing, credit analysis, and portfolio management within our microfinance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct customer mobilization through aggressive marketing and outreach activities
• Cross-sell financial products offered by the company and educate customers on products, approval policies, and loan access terms and conditions
• Assist clients in completing loan applications and preparing comprehensive loan analysis
• Present credit recommendations to the Branch Credit Committee
• Ensure all pre-disbursement conditions are fulfilled
• Appraise loan applications from individuals and companies with diligence and thoroughness
• Investigate and assess applicants' backgrounds, character, creditworthiness, and credit history using credit reference bureau records
• Verify all particulars contained in application forms
• Evaluate financial projections and repayment sources
• Ensure all applications are evaluated and submitted to the Credit Committee within two days of application receipt
• Verify that security documentation is complete, properly executed, and realizable in accordance with company credit policy
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
• Proven auto logbook loans selling experience
• Minimum three years of experience as a Credit Officer in microfinance
