County Executive Committee Member - Finance & Economic Planning

About the Role

Siaya County Government invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of County Executive Committee Member responsible for Finance & Economic Planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in policy formulation and service delivery
• Promote good governance, transparency, and accountability
• Supervise the administration and delivery of services in the respective departments of the County Government and all decentralized units and agencies in the County
• Implement County legislation and policies
• Implement County and National legislation as required
• Manage and coordinate the functions of the County administration and its departments
• Provide the County Assembly with full and regular reports on matters relating to the County
• Advise the Governor on matters within your area of jurisdiction

Requirements

• Be a Kenyan Citizen
• Possess a relevant first degree from a university recognized in Kenya
• Master's degree (advantageous)
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
• Be a registered professional where applicable
• Minimum five years of knowledge, experience, and distinguished career in a field relevant to the Finance & Economic Planning portfolio
• Understand the diversity, challenges, and opportunities within the County
• Not hold any other State or Public Office
• Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all devolution laws
• Be a visionary and strategic leader
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
• Capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Commitment to work as part of a team to help Siaya County Government achieve its vision

Terms of Service

• Serve during the tenure of the Governor
• Remuneration and benefits as prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
