Corporate Communication Officer II at Bandari Maritime Academy

Position Overview

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Corporate Communication Officer II at Bandari Maritime Academy in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement communications strategy to support the Academy's objectives related to communications and marketing
• Develop and implement corporate communications and marketing plans to enhance the visibility of the Academy
• Manage the corporate image of the Academy
• Manage media relations across electronic, print and social media channels
• Coordinate the Academy's public functions and communication and marketing activities
• Facilitate the development of information, education, communication (IEC) materials and marketing materials
• Implement the Academy's corporate social responsibility function
• Coordinate corporate functions and manage public relations and marketing activities and events
• Manage Academy relationships with media to ensure prompt and accurate coverage of events
• Edit, review and provide support in design, production and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, speeches, publications, website contents, reports, outreach materials and audio/video production
• Develop and implement crisis management responses in line with the Academy's corporate and marketing guidelines
• Undertake customer service management and staff sensitization programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Information Science, International Relations, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
