## Title: Corporate Communication Officer II

About the Position

Bandari Maritime Academy invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Corporate Communication Officer II, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement communications strategy to support the Academy's objectives related to communications and marketing
  • Develop and implement corporate communications and marketing plans to enhance the visibility of the Academy
  • Manage the corporate image of the Academy
  • Oversee media management across electronic, print, and social media channels
  • Coordinate the Academy's public functions and communication and marketing activities
  • Facilitate the development of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials and marketing collateral
  • Implement the Academy's corporate social responsibility function
  • Coordinate corporate functions and manage public relations, marketing activities, and events
  • Manage Academy relationships with media to ensure prompt and accurate coverage of events
  • Edit, review, and provide support in the design, production, and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, speeches, publications, website content, reports, outreach materials, and audio/video production
  • Develop and implement crisis management responses in line with the Academy's corporate and marketing guidelines
  • Undertake customer service management and staff sensitization programs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Information Science, International Relations, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Computer application skills
  • High integrity and strong motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player
  • Professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results
