Controller at Total Security Surveillance

About the Role

We are a reputable private security company seeking an experienced Controller to join our Nairobi operations. The Controller will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems and security infrastructure, ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises through vigilant system management and rapid incident response coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor all surveillance systems, CCTV, tracking systems, alarms and security equipment in the control centre
• Record and log all incidents in system databases
• Monitor surrounding areas via view screens to detect suspicious activities
• Alert and coordinate response teams to respond immediately to distress calls and security breaches
• Initiate incident response procedures in accordance with established escalation protocols
• Monitor and maintain radio communication with all sub-stations to ensure continuous alertness
• Communicate professionally and courteously with other departments, external agencies, and the public
• Perform regular equipment checks and report any failures to the relevant supervisor
• Maintain control room security and ensure all equipment is properly secured and maintained
• Ensure compliance with organizational data security and confidentiality regulations

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Security Studies or a related field
• Proven experience working as a Controller in the private security industry (required)
• Professional experience in CCTV surveillance systems
• Strong computer literacy and technical proficiency
• Fluent English communication skills, including phonetic language capability
• CCTV monitoring training (advantageous)
