Position Overview

This vacancy presents an opportunity to join a leading healthcare organization. The position holder is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered oral healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care to all patients visiting the medical center
• Assess dental conditions and needs of patients using defined dental screening and monitoring procedures
• Analyze X-rays and evaluate dental needs, including medical history review and dental chart procedures
• Conduct, develop, and mount radiographs as well as trace radiographs required for corrective treatment
• Undertake treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment, tools, and established oral health procedures
• Manage and maintain dental department inventory, including consumables, equipment, and instruments
• Maintain stock control procedures for dental services to ensure accountability
• Document patient dental history, chief complaints, and observations, including laboratory procedures, and ensure follow-up on results
• Provide patient education on dental care and hygiene
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Contribute clinical dental expertise to patient care in the facilities
• Perform administrative duties and risk management functions
• Stay up-to-date with new developments in dental practice and the profession

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Oral Health
• Registration with the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)
• Valid annual practice license
• BLS Certification
• Proficiency in computer application packages
• Wide knowledge of the health industry
• Technical skills and leadership competencies

• Ability to work with minimum supervision

Experience

3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy hospital setting.
