A leading law firm in Nairobi is seeking an experienced Commercial and Conveyancing Advocate to join their team. This role offers direct exposure to top-tier legal matters and the opportunity to work with a reputable firm on their recruitment panel.

Role Objective

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal services in commercial and conveyancing matters, managing transactions from initiation through completion while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling of property
• Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions and prepare sale agreements, completion documents, and ensure proper registration
• Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed as scheduled
• Draft conveyancing and legal documents with precision and attention to detail
• Prepare security documents and ensure they are properly executed and registered
• Provide legal opinions on commercial, corporate, and property-related transactions and real estate matters
• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, the Land Registry, Government Departments, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
• Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
• Assist with due diligence and intellectual property issues related to contracts, agreements, and transactional matters
• Conduct negotiations and handle transactional documentation
• Send terms of engagement and fee estimates to clients
• Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
