Job description

## Title: Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate – Nairobi & Nakuru

Role Objective

A prominent medium-sized law firm specializing in various practice areas is recruiting 2 advocates to join their team in commercial and conveyancing law.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property and real estate
  • Draft conveyancing documents and legal documents
  • Prepare and send terms of engagement and fee estimates with disbursements
  • Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
  • Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
  • Provide legal advice on commercial and corporate transactions
  • Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts and legal documents, ensuring proper execution
  • Advise clients on legal processes involved in purchasing and selling property
  • Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions
  • Prepare sale agreements, completion documents, and ensure proper registration with relevant authorities
  • Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed and scheduled
  • Assist with due diligence on intellectual property issues related to contracts, agreements, and transactional matters
  • Prepare security documents
  • Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
