Claims Analyst at Liberty Life

Job Summary

The Claims Analyst is responsible for assessing, processing, and paying valid claims to ensure timely settlement within Liberty Life's claims management guidelines. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and strong customer service orientation to maintain high standards of claim handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Process claims accurately and timely according to guidelines to meet established customer service standards
• Analyze client documentation to verify credibility and compliance with Liberty Life claims processing guidelines
• Register new claims promptly and acknowledge receipt
• Advise claimants on basic matters concerning their insurance coverage in relation to their claims
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding claims processes, service providers, and proper form completion
• Record all claims transactions comprehensively
• Prepare claims registers and update various claims reports
• Maintain claims records according to Liberty Life record management guidelines to ensure accessibility and data integrity
• Verify accuracy of the claims register
• Prepare quality reports in a timely manner for review submission
• Reconcile claim reserves and paid claims
• Create and reconcile claims reserves and manage reinsurance recoveries upon settlement for group risk
• Manage maturity and surrender suspense, including premium refunds
• Process and disburse pension claims and related payments, including withholding taxes, trustees' and service providers' fees

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or a business-related field
• Professional qualification in Insurance (LOMA, ACII, or AIIK)

Required Experience

• At least 2 years' experience in claims, pension administration, or underwriting roles in the life insurance industry
