About the Organization
The Catholic Diocese of Ngong seeks to engage a suitably qualified Chief Medical Officer for St. Joseph's Mission Hospital, Kilgoris (SJMHK), a Christian Level 4 health facility located near Kilgoris town in Narok County, Kenya. The 82-bed institution (scalable to 200) offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and houses a School of Nursing scheduled to reopen soon under the Diocese. Kilgoris offers a serene and conducive semi-rural environment with a pleasant climate, ideal for professional practice and community living.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall clinical leadership and directly participate in patient care through consultations, treatment, and emergency response
- Superintend the hospital clinical team and supervise medical interns and students
- Orient non-resident physicians
- Chair the Hospital Medicines & Therapeutics Committee (HMTC)
- Lead daily clinical rounds to uphold quality care, safety, and professional standards
- Participate in hospital management and strategic operations
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized university
- Valid registration and practice license with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Minimum of three (3) years' post-internship experience in a Level 3 or higher facility
- Certification in at least one of the following: BLS, ACLS, or PALS (AHA or equivalent)
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical practice
- Proven clinical leadership experience
- Commitment to faith-based healthcare
Terms of Employment
- Salary: KES 140,000 to 187,500 per month, with 6% annual increment, plus allowances
- Housing: Available within hospital premises
- Contract: Permanent and pensionable position with renewable target-based contracts
- Probation: 6 months
