About the Organization
The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities. We are seeking a dynamic, visionary, and compassionate leader with a proven track record of driving impact and mobilizing resources to transform the lives of people with disabilities.
Position Overview
As the most senior manager, the CEO will be the public face of APDK, responsible for strategic leadership, operational excellence, and ensuring our mission to empower people with disabilities is at the heart of everything we do. The CEO serves as the primary link between the Board of Directors and the organization's daily operations.
This is a multi-faceted role requiring a strategic thinker, skilled fundraiser, and hands-on manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Serve as a key advisor to the Board of Directors, formulate policies, and translate organizational vision into actionable plans and programs
- Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of the organization through departmental heads, including administration, programs, finance, human resources, and facilities. Ensure prudent resource management and adherence to all legal and regulatory guidelines
- Fundraising & Resource Mobilization: Lead fundraising efforts, identify and cultivate relationships with donors, development partners, and philanthropic stakeholders. Set and achieve annual income goals to ensure financial sustainability
- Public Relations & Advocacy: Act as the primary external representative of APDK, maintain a strong and positive public image. Engage with government representatives, media, and the wider community to advocate for the rights and welfare of people with disabilities
