Business Development Officer, Bancassurance

About the Role

The Business Development Officer will drive the implementation of the sales strategy for the bancassurance channel to ensure achievement of departmental targets and contribute to organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify bancassurance business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals within company quality guidelines to increase market share
• Drive achievement of annual, quarterly, and monthly production budget targets
• Manage quality of business, productivity, and overall sales performance
• Provide accurate and competitive quotations for all product lines and ensure timely delivery to banks and prospective clients
• Build detailed knowledge of company products and stay abreast of market conditions and developments
• Conduct continuous product training for assigned bancassurance agencies
• Manage and maintain existing bancassurance client relationships to identify cross-selling opportunities, areas for growth, and new business acquisition
• Exploit synergy with other Group companies to grow business
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure customer instructions are executed within set timelines, enhancing customer satisfaction and maximizing revenue
• Manage direct sales relationships through assigned banks
• Monitor customer preferences and enhance business retention by offering solutions that meet or predict clients' future needs
• Ensure credit control policy adherence for all onboarded business
• Prepare timely, accurate, and informative reports on distribution channel performance
• Ensure business sourced from licensed bancassurance intermediaries meets ethical practices and regulatory standards
• Continuously liaise with ICT to ensure the Sales & Distribution module functions robustly and efficiently
• Implement Treat Customers Fairly principles
