Business Banker at National Bank of Kenya

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Business Banker to join our expanding team. This position is responsible for growing and retaining the Amanah Retail and SME business within an assigned business area. You will deliver experiential service to customers across all Amanah segments, deepen relationships to meet current and anticipated needs, and support sales activation activities to achieve growth and sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential new business opportunities and generate innovative ideas for implementing business initiatives to open Amanah Retail and SME accounts and grow the liability book
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Amanah clients' businesses by analyzing their management practices and market conditions, then use this knowledge to cross-sell Bank products and maximize customer wallet share
• Take ownership of business growth within your portfolio and advance the One Bank One Agenda objective
• Work closely with Credit Managers to initiate business deal proposals for new facilities or facility modifications, providing insightful information regarding business strength and vulnerabilities
• Proactively identify potential non-performing accounts and formulate appropriate mitigating initiatives
• Act as the single point of accountability for Amanah Retail & SME business, consistently delivering high-quality service to all internal and external customers while maintaining confidentiality of customer information
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and support awareness of Amanah Retail & SME products and processes at branch level
• Work with flexibility to support various sales activation activities aligned with unit objectives
