## Title: Branch Underwriting Analyst

About the Role

The role holder will be responsible for executing effective and efficient operational performance of the branch office in line with the Company's policies and practices that govern internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess proposed risks within set standards to accurately determine the risk the business is taking
  • Process underwriting transactions such as new business, renewals, invitations, declarations, endorsements, reconciliations, and cancellations in accordance with underwriting guidelines
  • Handle queries on insurance products and make proposals on suitable products
  • Liaise with intermediaries and direct clients on policy-related issues to provide correct information
  • Obtain relevant details from clients and agents to enable provision of quotations
  • Prepare quotations on GIS system in association with Branch Manager
  • Ensure proposal forms, Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation, and all underwriting documents are completed for all new businesses
  • Issue policy documents within underwriting timelines and ensure timely debiting of all business
  • Collect premiums and issue premium payment receipts
  • Daily banking of premiums received and maintain proper records
  • Follow up on debt collection and premium payments
  • Maintain good working relationships with intermediaries, clients, and service providers
  • Ensure no hanging transactions
  • Receive claims documentation and follow up for processing and payment
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made
  • Maintain high standards of customer service by responding to client inquiries (walk-in clients, telephone, and email) and efficiently address their issues
  • Manage petty cash by ensuring all expenses are accounted for and following up with finance on payments to service providers
  • Carry out inquiries on GIS system
  • Carry out office administrative duties
  • Apply the credit control policy as required
