Branch Manager- Supermarket-Nairobi

Role Objective

Our client, a retail chain outlet, seeks a competent Branch Manager to report to the General Manager. You will be responsible for all retail operations and activities. This role requires agility, strong leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in the market.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive plans to achieve retail chain targets
• Lead the retail team, manage grievances, oversee leave management, and provide guidance and support
• Manage stock turnover, maintain FIFO standards, and identify low stock situations for action
• Identify obsolete and slow-moving stock items and make relevant decisions
• Procure high-quality goods while maintaining transparency and avoiding malpractices
• Ensure the safety and security of stores and goods
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual stock-taking exercises
• Address queries on variances
• Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive records
• Analyze category and brand performance on a weekly and monthly basis
• Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and advertising
• Manage budgets, resources, and vendors to ensure efficient resource utilization
• Enhance brand visibility and awareness campaigns to achieve store objectives
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the retail store
• Analyze consumer behavior and understand customer preferences
• Receive goods, stack them according to recommended store layout, and update the computer system with all stock movements
• Ensure compliance at all levels, including regulations and maintenance of appropriate licenses

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration or related field
• At least 3 years' experience in Retail Management
• Demonstrated expertise in procurement
