About the Organization

Mombasa Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited (MOWASSCO) is a licensed Water Service Provider operating under the Water Act, 2016. The Company invites applications from qualified and ethical individuals to serve on its Board of Directors in accordance with WASREB Corporate Governance Standards (2024) and the Company's Memorandum and Articles of Association.

Minimum Requirements

• Kenyan citizen of integrity, compliant with Chapter Six of the Constitution
• Diploma or higher qualification from a recognized institution (mandatory for all applicants)
• For professional categories (law, finance, engineering, governance, audit, HR, ICT, business): Bachelor's degree is mandatory; Master's degree or PhD is an added advantage
• At least 7 years' professional experience in a relevant sector
• Demonstrated knowledge of corporate governance, strategy, and risk management
• Active participation in local development initiatives and experience as a change agent
• Must not hold political office or be an employee of MOWASSCO
• Must not have served more than two terms as a director of the Company
• Must not be a supplier or trading associate of the Company
• Must fulfill conditions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity

Board Composition - 9 Vacant Positions

The Board shall comprise the following positions, in addition to 2 County Government representatives:

• Two (2) representatives of the business and manufacturing community (nominated by KNCCI & KAM)
• Two (2) representatives of local professionals (from recognized professional organizations)
• One (1) representative of consumers (institutions of higher learning or religious organizations)
• One (1) representative of the hotel and hospitality industry
• One (1) representative of special interest groups (youth, women, persons with disabilities)
