## Title: Assistant Professor in Machine Learning and Big Data/Data Science

Position Overview

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in Machine Learning and Big Data/Data Science at the School of Science and Technology. The successful candidate will report to the Dean and be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in machine learning, big data, and data science specializations
  • Support and mentor students in their career endeavors
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs are current and marketable
  • Participate in program assessment and reviews
  • Supervise students' research projects, theses, and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Conduct research in machine learning, big data, and data science
  • Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from an accredited university
  • At least 3 years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
  • Minimum of 32 publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014), of which at least 24 points must be from refereed scholarly journals
  • Supervised at least 4 postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
  • Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable
