## Title: Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics
Position Overview
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School of Science and Technology (SST) and will be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in applied mathematics
- Support and mentor students in their career endeavors
- Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs remain up-to-date and marketable
- Participate in program assessment and reviews
- Supervise students' research projects, theses, and dissertations at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Conduct research in your area of expertise
- Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from an accredited university
- At least 3 years of teaching or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
- A minimum of 32 publication points as a Lecturer or Research Fellow according to CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014), of which at least 24 should be from refereed scholarly journals
- Supervised at least 4 postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
- Registration with the relevant professional body, where applicable
