Job Profile

The job holder is responsible for coordinating the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring and evaluation of budget performance for all cost centres in accordance with the PFM Act 2012 and National Treasury guidelines, coordination of daily bank reconciliations, both external and internal audits, and preparation of management and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Management Accounting Section through effective people management to ensure the team operates efficiently in achieving organizational goals
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate periodic financial reports and insights to management and stakeholders
• Oversee formulation, implementation, and monitoring of budgets aligned to the organization's goals and objectives
• Oversee coordination of financial audits and implementation of audit recommendations
• Coordinate implementation of financial plans, financial analysis, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making
• Coordinate implementation of cost management frameworks that optimize operational efficiency and minimize wastage
• Coordinate implementation of risk management frameworks within the section
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements and standards
• Coordinate implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software that support efficient operations and reporting
• Coordinate implementation and maintenance of internal controls that safeguard assets and ensure proper management of financial records
• Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders on financial matters and reporting
