Job Overview
The job holder is responsible for coordinating the mobilization of resources annually from institutional and individual funders with the objective of building external funds and managing partnerships. The role ensures effective management of the institution's portfolio protection through the Students Loans Self-Protection Scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement resource mobilization strategies and annual work plans aimed at growing external funds
- Conduct environmental scanning to generate funder intelligence and identify opportunities in resource mobilization, including Government and funder priority areas
- Identify and map current and potential funding partners
- Supervise effective management of externally mobilized funds in line with service contracts signed with corporates, foundations, county governments, constituencies, and government agencies
- Review accountability reports to funders on fund performance to enhance transparency and achieve 100% retention
- Review and develop proposals, partnership contracts, and relevant documentation for fundraising and partnership engagements
- Articulate HELB's strategic position as a fund manager and partner in the education sector
- Draft partner contracts and agreements in line with partner agreements and current legal regulations and best practices
- Collect data, information, and conduct market research and analysis of donor trends to inform strategy and policy development
- Research and propose innovative financing products through key stakeholder engagement
