## Title: Agriculture Policy and Trade Analyst

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Agriculture Sector Network (ASNET) as an Agriculture Policy and Trade Analyst. Reporting to the ASNET CEO, you will drive policy analysis and trade facilitation initiatives across local, regional, and global levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely policy analysis and spearhead policy advocacy interventions and public-private dialogues in consultation with relevant BMOs and ASNET members
  • Work closely with BMOs and other ASNET members to facilitate trade at local, regional, and global levels
  • Conduct research on trade issues, analyze impacts, and share findings with relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate with public sector agencies, BMOs, and other partners to implement trade facilitation initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelor or Master level) in Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Law with agricultural focus, or other relevant qualification

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage with senior government officials
  • Knowledge of the constitutional mandates of both national and county governments, particularly in agriculture and trade sectors
  • Demonstrated experience working as a trade and policy analyst
  • Ability to work as a team player with minimal supervision across actors with varied interests in the agriculture sector
  • Experience working on specific policies and creatively pursuing bipartisan interests
  • Private sector experience is an added advantage
