About Miro Forestry Ghana Limited
Miro Forestry Ghana Limited is a sustainable forestry plantation developer and manufacturer of timber products. The company operates offices at Drobonso, Sekyere Afram Plains District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, with plantations near Agogo and Mampong.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Workshop Supervisor to lead our workshop operations and maintain our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Service and repair labour trucks
- Service and repair tractors and heavy equipment (dozers, graders, etc.)
- Service and repair staff vehicles (pick-ups)
- Control work allocation and supervise subordinates
- Maintain workshop housekeeping and organization
- Manage workshop equipment and tools control
- Report problems and incidents concerning vehicles and equipment to Technical Manager, Senior Silviculture Forester, or General Manager
- Ensure safety of workshop staff and maintain safe working conditions
Required Qualifications
- Polytechnic certificate in mechanical or motor engineering, or equivalent
- Proficiency in computer knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Required Experience
- At least 5 years' experience in the repair and servicing of heavy equipment and vehicles
- Experience in workshop supervision, service scheduling, and maintenance records management
Personal Qualities and Competencies
- Ability to diagnose technical problems and implement solutions
- Strong supervisory skills to motivate and control subordinates
- Proficient records management abilities
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Effective and timely response to requests and inquiries from drivers, operators, and line management
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental issues
