Job Summary

The successful candidate will deliver educational instruction to students and facilitate their academic, social, and emotional development. The teacher will prepare lesson plans, assess student performance, and create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Physical and Health Education as well as sports in the University of Ghana Basic School
• Plan and lead PHE lessons, organizing students to compete in sporting events and evaluating their performance
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to state and school curriculum standards
• Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs
• Integrate technology and interactive activities to enhance learning
• Maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning
• Establish and enforce rules for behaviour and procedures for maintaining order
• Address and resolve disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner
• Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
• Use assessment data to modify teaching strategies and improve student learning outcomes
• Identify and support students with special needs, collaborating with special education staff as needed
