Position Overview

A reputable Oil and Gas company is seeking a professional Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) Officer for immediate employment in Accra, Ghana.

Job Summary

Your principal functions are to provide a safe working environment for all employees and visitors, coordinate and supervise day-to-day safety activities, and ensure facilities are maintained in accordance with HSE standards. You will administer these facilities properly and adequately while achieving continual improvement in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment. This role requires demonstrating duty of care and promoting high awareness of QHSE standards across all company staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the development of corporate HSE policies to support the company's HSE management system
• Implement and monitor Quality, Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures
• Coordinate Quality and HSE activities to comply with all relevant regulatory and company requirements
• Lead on Quality and HSE issues and oversee implementation of QMS and HSE MS requirements
• Maintain, review, and update HSE policies
• Direct and manage Risk Assessments, Hazard Assessments, and HAZOPS studies
• Ensure development of effective Emergency Response Plans
• Conduct incident investigations and reporting, including implementation of preventive and corrective actions for accidents to ensure compliance with company procedures
• Attend and conduct regular QHSE meetings with clients and subcontractors to discuss and agree on safety standards, concerns, and hazards management
• Respond to fires and other emergencies as required
