The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Provost, College of Health Sciences, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor.

College Structure

The College of Health Sciences comprises the following academic and research units:

• School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences
• University of Ghana Medical School
• University of Ghana Dental School
• School of Nursing and Midwifery
• School of Pharmacy
• School of Public Health
• Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research
• Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics
• West African Genetic Medicine Centre (WAGMC)
• West Africa Centre for Global Environmental and Occupational Health

College Objectives

The College of Health Sciences shall advance the objectives of each of its constituent units and in particular:

• Develop world-class graduates to meet national and global developmental needs through quality teaching, learning and research
• Create a congenial environment for memorable teaching, learning and research experiences for faculty and students
• Enhance the research capabilities and output of faculty, students and employees
• Establish and promote the internationalisation of the programmes and courses of study and instruction in the College
• Enhance employee capacity through systematic staff development programmes
• Coordinate the mobilisation of resources for the College
• Help the Establishments achieve academic excellence in Health Education and support the development of their teaching, research and extension programmes
• Promote the development of sustainable health programmes
