The Challenge

Today, 771 million people lack access to clean water and 1.7 billion lack adequate sanitation facilities—affecting approximately 1 in 5 of the world's population. Every two minutes, a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation conditions.

The Opportunity

As Programme Manager, WASH and Climate Change, you will lead the integration of climate resilience into WaterAid's WASH initiatives, driving transformative change that enables millions to unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and improve their lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee WASH programs that integrate climate resilience into all initiatives
• Ensure program growth, effectiveness, and alignment with WaterAid's strategic priorities and national climate adaptation goals
• Provide technical leadership and drive adoption of climate-resilient WASH practices across programs
• Manage program performance, budgets, and resource allocation to maximize impact and efficiency
• Identify opportunities to scale interventions and strengthen systems in vulnerable communities
• Address climate-related challenges through innovation and sustainable solutions
• Foster sector-wide impact by influencing policy and building stakeholder capacity
• Document and share lessons learned to advance sector knowledge and practice
• Engage with key stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and collaborative efforts

Position Details

• Location: Accra, Ghana
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term
• Working Hours: 39.5 hours per week
• Salary: GHS 182,753 – GHS 286,864 per annum with excellent benefits
