Role Overview
The Procurement Officer provides comprehensive procurement services in accordance with GIZ policy and standards. This role involves administering logistics and contract management services, providing guidance and support to ensure procurement processes are effective, efficient, transparent, and deliver best overall value to GIZ. The position requires excellent internal client service and supports the Manager in discharging procurement responsibilities, developing new tools and training sessions, and applying procurement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing and Procurement
- Execute local procurement of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with GIZ regulations and in consultation with Head Office
- Process invitations to tender and order processing
- Maintain procurement and tender data in ProSoft systems
- Review invoices for goods, vouchers, payment instructions, and address complaints
Logistics and Transport
- Organize safe transport of goods to destination
Customs Declarations
- Process customs declaration procedures, including duty-free import of goods
- Enter information in customs declaration database
- Produce customs-related statistics
- Monitor and process clearing of goods
Vehicle Registration
- Participate in the entire vehicle registration process
