Position Overview

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Principal, Kumasi City Campus. This is a full-time, senior leadership role within the College of Education.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the academic and administrative head of the Kumasi City Campus
• Provide administrative and academic direction and leadership for the Campus as determined by the Council and Academic Board
• Maintain and promote the efficiency and good order of the Campus in accordance with the University Act, Statutes, and policies established by the Council and Academic Board
• Ensure that approved programmes and functions of the Campus are duly executed
• Oversee general administration of the Campus, including management of human, financial, and material resources within the University's policy framework
• Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and extension activities

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Possess professorial status from an academic/research institution, or hold a position in industry that qualifies for this level
• Demonstrate strong managerial and administrative leadership capabilities
• Show capacity to promote a collegial working environment
• Provide evidence of ability to attract funding for research and development
• Display vision and drive to oversee growth and development of the Kumasi City Campus
• Demonstrate capacity to provide academic leadership in relevant disciplines
