About the Position

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Principal, Accra City Campus.

The Accra City Campus is a semi-autonomous campus of the University of Ghana, expanding the institution's reach by offering a wide range of programmes in the Central Business District of Accra.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Pro Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Accra City Campus

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the academic and administrative head of the Accra City Campus
• Provide administrative and academic direction and leadership for the Campus as determined by the Council and Academic Board of the University
• Maintain and promote the efficiency and good order of the Campus in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes
• Ensure that approved programmes and functions of the Campus are duly carried out
• Oversee the general administration of the Campus, including management of human, financial, and material resources within the framework of University policy

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Hold the rank of Associate Professor or possess equivalent qualifications from industry eligible for appointment as Associate Professor
• Demonstrate capability in providing academic leadership, particularly in teaching, research, and extension in relevant disciplines
• Provide evidence of managerial and administrative leadership experience
• Capacity to promote a collegial working environment
