About the Position

The Department of Plant and Environmental Biology under the School of Biological Sciences, University of Ghana invites applications from qualified persons for a full-time position as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Plant Taxonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Plant Taxonomy and other basic Plant Science courses
• Conduct research in plant systematics using classical and molecular approaches
• Contribute to the development and advancement of the Plant Systematics programme
• Pursue grant funding and research opportunities
• Work collaboratively within the department and broader research community

Required Qualifications

• BSc. in Plant Science or related discipline
• PhD in Plant Systematics
• Expertise in classical and molecular systematics
• Age not exceeding 45 years

Required Skills & Attributes

• Strong capacity for teamwork
• Research excellence and grantsmanship
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art research methodologies
• Teaching ability across multiple plant science courses
