Head of Security at University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC)

About the Position

The University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Head of Security.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop procedures to ensure physical safety of employees, students, and visitors
• Develop and implement security policy, standards, guidelines, and procedures
• Ensure security measures are maintained and updated
• Create workplace violence awareness and prevention programmes
• Liaise and maintain relationships with appropriate offices of the institute, the Police, and other security agencies on matters concerning institutional security
• Develop emergency procedures and incident response protocols
• Investigate security breaches
• Conduct audits to identify weaknesses in security operations
• Develop risk management assessments
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's Degree in Peace and Security or relevant equivalent qualification
• Minimum rank of Assistant Registrar with at least 4 years of service in that rank, OR
• Rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police or equivalent in the Ghana Armed Forces or other analogous security organization
• Duty conscious with capacity to manage crisis situations
• Sober with maturity and drive for sound, impartial judgment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
