Head for Data Network at AirtelTigo

About the Role

The successful candidate will join our team as Head of Data Network in the Network Department. This position reports to the Planning Director and oversees Data Network capacity planning, dimensioning, and optimization. The role involves engineering enterprise solutions and ensuring redundant and resilient data network infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

Data Network Optimization

• Take ownership and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to core network
• Ensure efficient usage of the Data Network and interfaces

Data Network Planning

• Maintain and supervise the implementation of a 5-year Data Network expansion plan (Packet Switch, MPBN, EDGE routers, Caching services, IPLC) in line with approved network strategy and within performance targets
• Conduct capacity planning and dimensioning for all Data Network nodes in line with agreed capacity management guidelines
• Define and implement solutions aligned with best practices and future strategy
• Ensure network resilience for all Data Network nodes in line with agreed Network Availability KPIs
• Serve as Enterprise Solution Architect
• Provide technical centre of excellence for core and IP transport-related issues

• Maintain up-to-date documentation on current network architecture and services
• Delivery of the AirtelTigo Ghana MPBN backbone network and related IP access network

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication
• 8 years' relevant experience
