About the Role

The successful candidate will join AirtelTigo's Legal and Regulatory Department as Head of Commercial & Corporate Transactions. Reporting to the Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice in a commercial setting covering all corporate and commercial activities, including contract negotiation and appropriate commercial arrangements. This role ensures the company's contractual arrangements align with Ghanaian laws and that all business practices, activities, and policies remain compliant.

Core Responsibilities

Contract Drafting, Review and Approval

• Lead in creating and maintaining a proactive legal dossier
• Support stakeholders and user departments to negotiate contracts within specified timeframes while ensuring agreements are legally enforceable and serve the company's interests
• Draft contracts covering various business areas and departments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and business direction, and forward them for approval
• Ensure legal compliance monitoring across the entire company and direct risk management efforts related to daily operations
• Develop and implement systems for the valid execution, archiving, and retrieval of all commercial contracts and other arrangements concluded by the company

Legal Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare monthly legal reports reflecting legal costs, intellectual property, board meetings, company projects, material contracts, and the legal register
• Prepare quarterly compliance certificates and secretarial certificates for the company and its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, documenting the company's compliance with existing laws and regulations
