Director, Transport, Logistics and Stores at Parliamentary Service of Ghana

About the Role

The Parliamentary Service of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacancy of Director of Transport, Logistics and Stores. In this role, you will provide strategic support to the Clerk and management of the service through the Deputy Clerk responsible for Corporate and Financial Management Services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement transport and logistics strategies, policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of persons, goods and materials
• Plan and coordinate transport and logistics operations including distribution, warehousing and inventory management to meet the requirements of the Parliamentary Service
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements and safety standards governing transportation, warehousing and distribution activities, while maintaining documentation and records
• Establish and implement a system for vehicle fleet allocation, scheduling, routing, documentation, registration and planned maintenance
• Advise on technical requirements in the acquisition and procurement of vehicles and logistics for the Parliamentary Service
• Propose new or improved administrative, stores and clerical procedures to maintain economy and efficiency in stores operations
• Monitor the effective management of all stores activities of the Parliamentary Service
• Liaise with departments to establish minimum, reordering and maximum stock levels of materials and monitor compliance
• Prepare stores codes or vocabulary, standards and materials specifications for easy identification and retrieval of store items
