Cost Accountant at Ghana Nuts Company Limited

About the Role

Ghana Nuts Company Limited, a local industrial refinery company in the agro-business sector, is seeking a suitably qualified and highly experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Accra, Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, and prepare and analyze variance/margin statements for various products, sections, and cost centers
• Prepare financial analysis related to manufacturing methods, inventory, and expense information to support decision-making
• Analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information to support decision-making
• Record cost information for controlling expenditures
• Work closely with the marketing team to prepare estimates for new and proposed product or service costs and provide margin impact analysis related to marketing and promotion activities
• Recommend cost efficiencies in new product layouts
• Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
• Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in the worldwide ERP system
• Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
• Lead and manage the quarterly and obsolete inventory review process
• Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP data through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing teams
• Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements
