Control Systems Engineer at TAQA Ghana

Job Purpose

Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for power plant industrial control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface, network switches, industrial control computing systems, and associated instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with health and safety policies and procedures; demonstrate strong safety awareness by reporting safety observations and near misses
• Provide technical expertise and leadership in control system engineering, design, implementation, programming/configuration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for power plant controls and Industrial Control Systems (DCS, PLC)
• Support control system devices, computers, communications, networks, and instrumentation systems
• Provide technical consultation, evaluation, and recommendations for specifications, work scopes, bids, test procedures, alarm response procedures, commissioning plans, and vendor reports
• Lead efforts to meet Ghana and International regulatory and cybersecurity requirements, including compliance initiatives and related activities
• Manage multiple control engineering support responsibilities in parallel with project involvement
• Oversee vendor and contractor support as needed
• Provide supervision and technical direction to instrumentation and control craft labor and technicians performing installation of turbine controls and related interface devices
